Bao is a postdoc in the junior research group “Computational Social Science”. Her research focuses on the development of technological and policy interventions to reduce online harms. These include: methods to detect abuse of social media, tools to evaluate platform policies and governance, and design heuristics that promote social cohesion and well-being. She approaches these questions using quantitative methods, studying large-scale datasets, network analysis, natural language processing, and machine learning.
