Sami is a postdoc in the junior research group “Computational Social Science”. His degrees are in Data Science and Philosophy, and Communication Science. Sami is interested in quantitative research and machine learning and combining ideas from different disciplines. He has done research on different topics, including disinformation, software applications for journalists, and methods to document and reduce the electricity usage of machine learning models. In his role in the computational social science unit, he is developing NLP and computer vision methods to analyze data from (social) media platforms and other sources.
