PhD Student

Barbara Vinatzer

Barbara started her PhD journey in January 2024. She joined this workgroup for her master’s thesis, where she explored ecological consumer-producer networks resembling gut microbiomes and analysed their conditions for structural stability. Previously, she contributed to a project developing a compressed sensing method for an optical near-field microscope, focusing on sampling methods that balance reconstruction quality and measurement stability.

Interests

  • Analysing dynamics of systems
  • Dynamics of networks for biology and social structures
  • Agent-based modeling
  • Optimization problems

Education

  • 2023 MSc in Biophysics, Humboldt University of Berlin
  • 2021 BSc in Biophysics, Humboldt University of Berlin
